A Nice and Warm Day

It was a wonderfully warm day out today.  So, I gathered up the kiddos and off we went to the park/beach for a picnic.  I had visions of me sitting by the lake with feet in the sand as the kiddos played.  We ate lunch, played at the play area and never made it to the lake.  I saw it though.  Quite pretty and it was 73 degrees with a slight breeze.  Yummy.  Here is our day in pics.

T is for Taking Photos

If you know anything about me, I love taking pictures.  I love my iPhone for this reason.  I have a small Nikon.  But my iPhone allows me to edit my pics and do all kind of neat treatments to them.  I dream of the day when I can get a really nice camera.  Oh, the fun.  For the now, the iPhone is doing the trick.  Here is a sampling of today's photos.  And some from a few weeks ago.  Have a Blessed Easter weekend.  God Bless.

R is for Revelation Song

What a powerful video for this awesome song. Jesus, the eternal gift to mankind to save us from our sins. Really puts into perspective this time of year.
God Bless.

Q is for Quiet

Quiet, the kids are in the bed and the hubby is at his friends.  I am enjoying the serenity of a quiet house.  Oh, these moments of solitude.  To be by yourself is as rare as a substantial balance in my checking account.  So, shhhhh.  Don't wake up the kiddos.  Good night.

P is for Palpitations

At least that is what they told me that is what I was having last night, after I spent 3 hours in the ER.

Heart palpitations -- an unusual awareness of the heartbeat -- is an extremely common symptom. Most people who complain of palpitations describe them either as “skips” in the heartbeat (that is, a pause, often followed by a particularly strong beat) or as periods of rapid and irregular heartbeats

I was hooked up to one of these.  It was normal.

This was being monitored the whole time, and it was normal.

All of these were tested, and yes... normal.

So, for now, they tell me it is Heart Palpitations.  Ok, I am good with that.  I thought I was for sure headed to the OR for a bypass.  Yah I know,  a little dramatic.  But bad hearts run in my family.  Now, its time to work on a better diet, so I don't end up on that table in the OR bypassing 3, 4 or 5 vessels.  At least my BFF was there with me to help pass the time, and of course there was always something interesting happening.  :)

O is for Orphans

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."  James 1:27.

From the 147 Million Orphans website:

Did you know there are hundreds of millions of children worldwide who have lost one or both parents.

Every 14 seconds an AIDS death leaves another child orphaned.
Approximately 88 million orphans live in Asia.
Approximately 45 million orphans live in Africa.

Approximately 14 million orphans live in Latin America & the Caribbean.

Approximately 1 million children live in public care in Central & Eastern Europe

More than 800,000 children pass through America’s foster care system each year.

These statistics do not even include the UNKNOWN children living orphaned both here and abroad that go uncounted, unnoticed and unloved.

147 million.  That number just baffles my mind.  I look at my four children and I think of them living on the streets alone with no one to love them, no one to care for them, no one.

"He will reply. 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'  Matthew 25:45

I think about who will care for the 147 million.  God cares about each and everyone of these little ones. My heart just breaks for these children.

147 Million Orphans talks about ways to help change the life of an orphan.  Take the time to check out the website to find out ways to help.  It is as easy as just praying or taking the leap to adopt a precious child of God.  You choose.

None of us are really truly orphans when we are the children of God.
God Bless

One thousand gifts

Gifts from the Lord above, counting each one as He places them in my grasp:

21.  Abbi stroking my hair and heating up the neck wrap for me when I had a bad migraine this week.

22.  Migraine medication that gets rid of the horrible pain in my noggin.

23.  The smell of freshly baked banana nut bread as it emerges from the oven.

24.  Finding deals at mom to mom sales.

25.  Being able to take a day off of work to attend my daughter's 4th grade field trip to see Charlotte's Web, the play.

26.  Finding the humor of my 3 yr old daughter being kicked out of her swim class after only 10 minutes of instruction.

27.  The kids being able to play outside more and more because the weather is nicer.

28.  Having the time to write in a journal.

29.  My husband calling to see if I need a Diet Coke after a long day with the kids while he is out on an errand.

30.  Laundry almost all done.

God Bless and have a wonderful week.
