Helping Others

Today I went and chopped off 8 in off my hair.  My beautiful daughter Abbi did this in the summer.  We are sending our hair to Pantene beautiful lengths program.  This program collects hair to make wigs for women with cancer and distributes them for free.  Click here to learn how to donate.

Here is Abbi in the summer with her 10 in ponytail.

My 8 in ponytail ready for donation.

My new do.

My photoshopped do.

We are still on our mission to collect Shoes for Haiti.  This has become a family mission around here.  My daughter Abbi and her friends have begun to decorate boxes and distribute flyers at her school.  She is on a mission to get the kids the shoes they need.

The box Abbi and Shane decorated for school in hopes of collecting a lot of shoes.

Today I found myself a the Dollar Tree and found tons of flip flops for a buck.  So me and my friend Lianne scooped up a few pair to add to the collection for Haiti.

Just goes to show you it doesn't take much to donate to someone in need,  your hair, a dollar. Not much at all. If you have a dollar store with flip flops and want to donate some, that would be greatly appreciated.  These shoes are flying out the end of March to bless the people of Haiti, so you have some time.

I did not write about this in anyway to receive any praise or glory on my part.  All of that goes to Him, our Heavenly Father.  I just want to illustrate how easy it is to help each other out and what a difference ONE person can make.  So go ahead, I dare you to make a difference.  All I do is for the Kingdom.  God Bless.

"He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me'.

Awesome! I've started sewing with Sew Delightful - Dress a Girl and it's been so neat. I got an e-mail from them the other day saying they were hand delivering my dresses to some girls in Haiti this week and I may be getting pictures! I"l have to check out the shoes for Haiti!

Thanks for following! :) I did a shoe drive with a couple students a couple years ago. It was fun and a lot of work but our goal was doubled! God was faithful and many kids now have shoes! We hit up the local radio station for free publicity, and the Christian book stores allowed us to collect shoes there. :) Looking forward to hearing the progress. Some people from my church are going to Haiti at the end of March! :)

Your new do looks great. We have "Locks for Love" here in MS. My daughter has been growing her hair, but she is only at 8". It's a great program.

Stopping by from Relax & Surf Sunday Blog Hop (Even though it's Saturday).
