Whew!! This weekend was a busy one! The church we just started attending has an awesome outreach event for the community called Reverse Christmas. The event includes: a live nativity with real live animals,
mainstreet right out of "It's A Wonderful Life", a walk through a plethora of decorated Christmas trees, food for the needy, Santa Claus, Christmas carolers, wrapped gifts for the kiddos, cookies and treats, and a carriage ride with some beautiful horses all for FREE!! That's right, not a dime! Just a donation, if you feel so inclined. It is all put together with donations, volunteers and most of all God's provision. I was in awe by what I saw when I walked into this event. My eyes just welled up when I saw the amount of people standing in line to be registered for the food giveaway. There is so much need out there!! It was very emotional to see the families come out to this event and wait in line for the food that many so desperately needed. The kids eyes would light up when they would see "
mainstreet" and all its decoration and of course the baby Jesus in the manger. One woman began to cry with such deep emotion after looking at the nativity scene and thanked us for all we did. To me, that is what
CHRISTmas is all about!! Spreading the Good News and helping our fellow brothers and sisters. What a blessing this event provided so many.
The angel is my daughter, Abbi. I think she makes a very cute angel :) They had 2 Llamas, 2 donkeys, pigs, goats, chickens, and bunnies.
This is Santa's factory where all the toys are made. They had a conveyor belt with toys being made and people wrapping gifts in the background. Santa was off to the back listening to all the kiddos requests.
Me and Abbi strolling through the Christmas Trees.
Mainstreet where all the goodies were being passed out.
Abbi with her wings and Shane watching "It's A Wonderful Life" at the movie theatre on
mainstreet.
Shane testing out the cookies at the bakery on
mainstreet.
Shane and the snowmen.
Shane in the sleigh.
One of my favorite trees. The hat tree.
Abbi and I liked the Teddy Bear Tree.
This is what we woke up to this morning and it hasn't stopped yet!! Yeah!!!
It was a very fun, exhausting and emotional weekend. I am very blessed for what I have. May you have a great week.

It must be nice to have small children still in your home. Two of our three have already left the nest and our youngest is 16. Where did the years go? Oh well...I still love the Christmas season ever bit as much as when we had wee ones. The spirit of the season is a warm beautiful year long experience in my heart.
