El Monterey Family Entrees Review and Giveaway

I don't know about you, but dinner time can be really hectic around our house!!  We have 4 kiddos, 3 of which are in activies, making dinnertime really hard sometimes.  I came across a great company with some really great foods to help alleviate this problem.

El Monterey is manufactured by Ruiz Foods – a California-based, family-owned and operated food processing company co-founded in 1964by Fred Ruiz and his father, Louis. To this day, Ruiz Foods still uses ‘Grandma Rosie’s’ recipes as the basis for all their Mexican food products – burritos, taquitos, quesadillas, tamales, chimichangas, and more.



We are a chicken eating family around here.  So we got to try the Chicken Mexicana and the Chicken Enchiladas for our review.  I am always sceptical of chicken from a box, but this exceeded my expectations.  The taste was very fresh and not rubbery, like some chicken can be after being reheated.  Three out of 4 of my kiddos thought is was too spicy for them, but the baby polished off 3 bowls of the Chicken Mexicana and Chicken Enchiladas.  My husband and I didn't find it too spicy and I am not a fan of spicy foods.  I also took it to work the next day for lunch and it was just as good reheated.
