Week 3: Proverbs 31:16-18 Are you thrifty and frugal? Do you take care of yourself by exercising and eating right? Write a post about how you are spending wisely and/or any ways in which you are making healthier choices to ensure you are energetic and strong.
Ever since we have gone down to one income, our spending has changed dramatically. Gone are the days of eating out and fast food runs. Coupons and Sales Ads litter my table weekly. Blog after blog about couponing and how to be thrifty are scattered across my laptop screen. Have I become thrifty and frugal? You bet I have!
God has shown us as a family that we can live on less. That we don't need all the whistles and the bells. That I need to be content in what I have and not what I don't! I have become thrifty in ways I would have never dreamed of. Making baby wipes and cleaning wipes, making more homemade meals and having a weekly meal plan are all ways to help lessen the load.
"But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that." 1 Timothy 6:8
This is why I blog, to learn more about how others are frugal and share what I have learned. I also blog to to pick up little things for the kids that I wouldn't be able to afford by doing giveaways. Mom to Mom sales are my best friend when it comes to clothing my kiddos. Garage sales in the summer can be big helpers too. I have learned alot on this journey of frugality. God has put that fire in my heart to want to be more frugal and save more money for my family. It has been a journey, and I am still on it learning everyday.
You noticed how I have avoided the whole question about health and exercise?? That I am not as fired up about, but need to. So, thanks, food for thought.
This is from one of my shopping trips. I love taking pictures of my good deals. All that for $26.76. Now to get back on the treadmill :) |

I know what you mean about exercising. It is not one of my top tens either, but I am finding it more important the older I get. I also have the advantage of seeing my mother, who never exercised, in her disabled condition to push me to take care of myself.
Thank you so much for linking up to A Woman of Noble Character. It has been fun getting to know you, and share this experience with you. Have a blessed week! =)

Matthew 6:32, "for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things."
