Mother's Day 05.09.2010

Psalm 139:13
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb

As I reflect on this Mother's Day, a flood of emotions takes over me. I reminiscence through the plethora of pictures I have taken over the years. My heart begins to grow sad. The sadness of how fast these years have passed by and how fast my children are growing up. They were so little then, and now my oldest is nine. Can time just slow down a little!! Can I hold them and cradle them a little longer!!

I love being a mother. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It is the hardest job I have ever done. I love these little gifts from God so much it hurts. To me, my Mother's Day has always been the celebration of when these blessings made their first appearance.

God made me a mother to these gifts he has given me to raise up in His name. I cherish the blessings He has bestowed upon me and I celebrate each and everyone of them.

Who can find a virtuous woman? She is far more precious than jewels...
Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the activities of her household and is never idle.
Her sons rise up and call her blessed.
Her husband also praises her:
Many women are capable, but you surpass them all!
Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.
~Proverbs 31:10, 25-30

These are just a few of the pictures that began my Mother's Day celebrations. The day God graced me with such incredible, unfathomable love for these little beings. I look forward to all the milestones, broken hearts and bones, vacations, field trips, and all that God has in store for these babies of mine.

As a mother this is a day to be celebrated, but I am the one celebrating. I celebrate each day the Lord graced me with their presence. Tomorrow, I will remember those birthdays that gave me the title....Mother.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and God bless you.
Love you,
Shelley :)
