Field Trip Fun

On Friday, I got to go on a field trip with my daughter's class. We went to Greenfield Village. It is a historic park built by Henry Ford. It is pretty cool to step back in time! One of the oldest homes is there, which dates back to 1640!! Wow! Well, anyway, here are a few pics of our day. I totally was in love the whole day. Learning about the time period with Abbi (which she loves) and hanging out with my daughter (which I love!), makes for one awesome day!

Abbi and I on the train that took us around the village.

The hat shop. My favorite stop!! We got to try on all kinds of fabulous hats from that era!

The man in the shop that was enlightening us with how the ladies would stand when they were photographed in their hat.
So, Abbi struck the appropriate pose. Too cute!

Abbi and her schoolmates on the Model T.
We rode a Model T that was a six seater!

Abbi and her favorite, horses!! We got to ride the bus pulled by these beautiful creatures.
Abbi learning to make candles the old fashioned way!! She had to dip them and keep dipping them! It took a really long time!!
This was after about 10 minutes of dipping.
Just a pretty picture of the sawmill and the
pretty lillies.
It was just an awesome day and we had a great time spending it together. Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend.
Shelley :)
