D is for Diego Rivera

I used to go to the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts) all the time when I was younger and closer to Detroit.  I loved roaming through the halls and being mesmerized for hours by all the beautiful artwork.  My favorite was the mural by Diego Rivera.  This is a huge mural that takes up a large wall at the DIA.  The name of the mural is "Detroit Industry" and was commissioned in 1932-1933 and consisted of 27 panels.  The picture below is a small portion of the mural.

This is the whole North Wall at the DIA of the mural.  You can see the enormity of it all.  It is such a mesmerizing piece of artwork.
